Il complesso del Borgo comprende l’edificio principale del Castello, che è il nucleo dell’intera tenuta. Circondano il Castello vari edifici singoli, che abbiamo ristrutturato ottenendo da essi o abitazioni indipendenti o edifici con due appartamenti. Tutte le proprietà sono ristrutturazioni, edificate nel Castello o intorno ad esso: quest’ultimo è un edificio protetto del X secolo, pertanto i lavori sono stati soggetti ad approvazione del Ministero delle Belle Arti. Nel 2002, dopo anni di progettazioni, è stata data l’approvazione e i lavori sono iniziati. All’inizio abbiamo dato la priorità alle varie strutture che circondano il Castello, che originariamente erano la polveriera, botteghe artigiane e residenze del personale: lo scopo era di dare forma al Borgo, prima di iniziare il processo di ristrutturazione del Castello. Le proprietà che abbiamo già venduto sono state acquistate prima del loro completamento. Il Castello è una struttura imponente, così ci riferiamo ad esso suddividendolo in tre aree, che sono state ristrutturate una alla volta. Nel Castello ci sono: Edificio Beatrice, la Torre e la Villa. Quest'anno abbiamo iniziato i lavori alla Torre e la Villa. Stimiamo di completare la Torre entro la fine del 2008 e la Villa entro la fine del 2009. APPRTAMENTO TORRE 5 Appartamento al secondo piano situato nel Castello Questo appartamento è su due livelli: al primo due camere da letto, due bagni (en-suite), un’area salotto e soggiorno con caminetto molto spaziosa, una cucina e un ripostiglio. Una scala conduce al secondo livello con uno studio o camera per gli ospiti dotato di bagno. L’appartamento ha affacci in tre direzioni: Nord, Est e Sud, e offre viste mozzafiato sulla campagna circostante del Chianti, sulle vigne e sugli oliveti. Dal soggiorno si accede ad una graziosa e panoramica terrazza. L’appartamento misura circa 165 mq, con 12 mq aggiuntivi circa di terrazza.

The ‘Castello’ is 10th Century listed building and the hamlet of San Donato dates back to medieval times and is recognised as an important historical site, recently documented in a book titled ‘ San Donato in Perano’ written by the national historical society. All building work and restoration must be approved by the Italian Commission of fine arts. Approvals were given gradually, and in 2004 after many years of projecting and planning, work began on the structures which surround the castle ; three independent farmhouses and two duplex farmhouses. However eager to get started on the restoration of the castle, priority was given to the various structures that surrounded the Castello, which were all originally barns, outhouses, and staff quarters. The aim was to give form to the Borgo, before starting the massive restoration process of the Castello. The names of these properties are Cavalcanti House, Leonardo House, Dante House, Federigo House and Hermes House. These properties were all sold prior to completion. In 2006 approval was given to restore Beatrice House ; a three storey structure which was added to the castle around the 1800’s. It gives the castle an L shape. Beatrice House houses three apartments, one on each floor. All of which were sold off-plan, before work began during 2006-7. In 2007 the approval we had all been waiting for was given, and work began on the castle. The ground floor of the Castello houses a 15th century consecrated chapel, and will also house a banquet hall, a library, various reception suites and lounges. The project foresees four apartments in La Torre and four ‘suites’ in La Villa. The suites will be kept by the company and may be rented by the owners to house friends and family if required. The apartments currently on sale are situated in the highest and most prestigious part of the castle ; La Torre. We estimate completion of La Torre to be around the end of 2008, and La Villa in early 2009. APARTMENT TORRE 5 Third Floor apartment situated in the Castello This apartment has two floors, and consists of two (or three) bedrooms, three bathrooms (two en-suite), a very spacious and luminous lounge and dining area, a separate kitchen, and a store room or laundry. The open-plan living area incorporates an impressive restored fireplace as a focal point. A stairway leads up to a restored loft area divided into two rooms, one of which may be used as a study or guest bedroom, whilst the other is a bathroom. The apartment faces in three directions : North, East and South, and provides breathtaking views over the surrounding Castles and Chianti countryside. The terrace can be accessed from the living area via French doors. The apartment measures approx’ 183 Sq Mt’s.
